Classes
The teachers have been specially selected for the classes at the Relaxation Rooms, with all of them having a number of years experience.
All classes are run as courses and usually run for 8 weeks. Class sizes are limited to 9 people to ensure that all students get good levels of tuition. If you are interested in trying yoga or body control pilates, please call the Relaxation Rooms on 01483 56 11 10 to find out more details. If you do not have any experience in body control pilates or yoga then we recommend you to start with a beginners course.
One on one pilates/yoga sessions
If you'd prefer to have a one on one yoga or pilates session or train with a friend, then exclusive use of the studio can be arranged with your teacher. Please call for more details.
Deborah McBean became involved in pilates 6 years ago having suffered many problems with her neck and back. Amazed by the results she decided to train as a body control instructor a couple of years ago. She now teaches at Wotton House Health club and runs classes in Merrow for groups & individuals.
Sarah Bowden teaches Sivananda yoga classes which are dynamic and flowing classes that aim to increase flexibility and build strength. By concentrating on the pranayama (breathing awareness) and vinyasa (interlocking movements joining asanas – postures) this enhances relaxation and builds energy reducing stress levels, leaving you feeling inspired.

What is 'Body Control Pilates'?
Body Control Pilates is very closely based upon the method of body-conditioning and training developed by the late Joseph Pilates. It is an exercise method which relies on strengthening core postural muscles and developing body alignment. It avoids the muscle and ligament damage, sometimes associated with other fitness regimes.
What makes Body Control Pilates different ?
Body Control Pilates is remarkably effective - and medically-approved. It is of an holistic nature, being based upon a well-constructed philosophical foundation. Central to the method is 'awareness of your own body' and each and every exercise is built around its eight basic principles. |
